Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency (DOĞAKA), headquartered in Hatay, is responsible for planning and implementing economic and social development in TR63 NUTS 2 Region covering Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye provinces with a participatory approach has been established with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 14.07.2009 and numbered 2009/15236 in accordance with Article 3 of the Law No. 5449.
In Turkey, like other 25 development agency is being set up throughout, DOĞAKA the public, to improve cooperation between all stakeholders from the private sector and civil society, by providing the resources are in place and effective utilization and mobilize local potential, in accordance with stipulated in the national plans and programs, principles and policies regional to accelerate development, ensure sustainability and reduce inter-regional and intra-regional development disparities.
It was determined with the participation of stakeholders from Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye; the region's economy, improving the social and democratic accumulation, while preserving the natural and cultural environment, Agriculture, Technology, Trade, Transport and Turkey in the field of tourism and the vision to be the leader in the Middle East, showing the way to DOĞAKA all activities. With its culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, DOĞAKA aims to build the road to economic and social development by building bridges between public, private sector and non-governmental organizations at national and international level by mobilizing local potentials and by working together with its stakeholders and motivation in all planning and implementation processes. It plays a key role in the development of the Eastern Mediterranean Region with its flexible personnel structure. Participation, Innovation, Transparency, Accessibility, Productivity, Impartiality, Flexibility, Environmental Awareness, Solution Orientation and Positive Discrimination for disadvantaged groups stand out as the values of DOĞAKA. Eastern Mediterranean Development Agency (DOĞAKA) carries out activities in line with the regional plan objectives and priorities within the framework of the vision of the Regional Plan, which is defined as a region with high competitive power and quality of life with qualified human resources and advanced infrastructure facilities.
The Board of Directors, which is the decision-making body, DOĞAKA brings together the governors of three provinces, the central mayors, the heads of the chamber of commerce and industry and the heads of the provincial councils. The General Secretary, which consists of the Secretary General, experts and support staff, is the executive body of DOĞAKA. Thanks to the Investment Support Offices it has opened in all three provinces, DOĞAKA is also working to promote business and investment opportunities in the region and to develop entrepreneurship in the region.
As a member of the Association of European Regional Development Agencies (EURADA) as of August 2010, DOĞAKA has been able to follow the latest approaches, best practices and successful development models in the field of regional development from Europe and different countries around the world and also continues to share with partners
Moreover, being the contact point of the European Enterprises Network, which provides comprehensive services for SMEs and entrepreneurs by providing appropriate solutions for the operation of companies, DOĞAKA supports the development of partnerships from abroad in order to increase the capacity and competitiveness of enterprises in the region.
